ARISTOPUPS

GENERAL APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE APPLYING:

We are officially accepting general applications for Pearl’s puppies!

The puppies were born in the wee hours of September 21. Their mom, Pearl, is a shih tzu, while dad is unknown. However, their previous owner had shihs x chis. The pups will likely be between 10-25lbs when full grown. Please ensure you understand the amount of time, training and exercise you need to commit to in order to raise a balanced dog.

Please put “ARISTOPUPS” as the dog you’re applying for. Our adoptions team will select the applicants we feel are best prepared to welcome a puppy into their lives. They will pair you with a pup based on your application and the personalities/needs of the littles (MUTTS has plenty of matchmaking experience and will ensure you get the mutt that best fits your needs, and vice versa).

Adoption applications will be reviewed and processed within the coming weeks. Make sure to check your spam folder!

The puppies turn eight weeks on November 16, at which point they’ll be ready to go to their new homes. It is imperative that you do not have any major trips or life plans happening during the first few months, as your puppy will require a good amount of your time during this transitional period.

Prior to going to their adoptive homes, the puppies will have their first vaccine and microchip, and will be dewormed. Adopters are expected to bring their puppy to our vet (Southdown Animal Hospital, located in Mississauga) for the remaining puppy vaccines, as well as their spay/neuter, which will be due before March 21, 2025. The schedule has been preset and will be outlined in the adoption contract – note that the dates cannot be altered. All puppy vaccines and spay/neuter costs are included in the adoption fee.

Below are short bios of each of the pups. Please keep in mind behaviours will likely change a bit once they’re away from their mom and littermates, and also as they age. These are just quirks and personalities as observed to date.

Things that the puppies have in common: they are all so tender and sweet … and very quiet! Not a noise throughout the night, and barely a peep during the day, besides some playful growing while wrestling. They aren’t food crazy, either. Feeding time is extremely calm and civil, and they often come and go while eating. They play using their little paws like kittens!

Berlioz (mostly black with white): the first born and consistently the biggest of the litter, this baby boy is a cuddle monster! He is quickly earning himself a reputation as being the quietest of the bunch (aka the strong and silent type!). He has shown himself to be a homebody. When he is out of his pen, he hops right back in for a nap! In fact, he’s usually found snoozing alone in the little pool. Even though he is the largest, he is a gentle little guy with a very calm demeanour.

Marie (black and white): the second born and the runt, but the most tenacious! Shortly upon arrival into the world, this little girl gave her foster a scare as she lost weight and didn’t gain much back for days. But Marie quickly proved herself a fighter and had no quit, growing and finding her place in the pack despite having two bigger brothers. Since those precarious first weeks, Marie has found her adventurous side! She was the first to escape the pen and now, she cannot be contained! She’s tiny and daring, but seems happiest and most content cuddling with her mom. Marie is inquisitive and gentle and seems to really take in her surroundings.

Toulouse (brown and white): rounding out the pups as the last born, Toulouse is a people pleaser! Like his mama, he is enamoured and fascinated by us humans. He is usually right at his fosters’ heels, sitting and quietly observing. He is already a little shadow pup! Toulouse wants to know what’s going on at all times and be part of the action. All puppies have been exposed and socialized with various people, dogs, cats and kids.
