QUESTIONS

  • Only available mutts are posted on our website with their bio.

    Find our available mutts here

  • We post spotlights when a mutt initially comes into our rescue. We do not yet know their personality or what type of home they need in order to thrive. It’s best to wait for their bio to ensure they are a fit for your home.

  • Sometimes fosters or their friends or family adopts the mutt.

  • Sometimes applicants are interested in a particular mutt who has not yet joined the rescue. When this occurs, the potential adoptive home acts as a foster home for 2-3 weeks, with the intention of adopting the mutt at the end of the trial period. Should they decide against adoption, then we ask the applicant to continue fostering until a forever home is found.

  • Not if the initial application was complete within the last 6 months. The adoptions team would need to know you intended to migrate your application and it is helpful to state why you think the new mutt is a fit for you.

  • We do not hold dogs. It’s in the mutt’s best interest to join their family sooner rather than later, especially with puppies. We want our mutts to decompress in their forever home and to start bonding with their family. The longer the wait, the harder the transition can be. We suggest you apply when you’re ready

  • We require current pets in your home to be fixed, unless medically necessary (with proof). However, we cannot place an intact dog (eg puppy) in your home.

  • No. We sometimes hold events where you can meet available mutts. Follow our social media for these events.

  • Generally, we expect you to bring your mutt home within 2-3 weeks of the initial phone interview.

  • We select homes that would be a good fit for our mutts. A fenced yard is not necessary, however we expect adoptive homes to have plans to properly contain the mutt.

  • Ensure you have stability and time and finances to provide for your mutt. The ability to provide enough exercise, training, and boundaries to set your mutt up for success.
