urgent fosters needed.
For the last few weeks the community of Pukatawagan, MB has been ravaged by wildfires displacing its residents and government evacuation directives forced residents to leave their pets.
Thankfully the fires have subsided, however no hydro or water means it’s still not safe for community members to return home.
As settlers of this country, we owe it to the First Nations people to help in any way we can.
The government doesn't allow animals during such community emergency evacuations nor do they offer any assistance to animals left behind, so it's up to the communities and the amazing volunteers like those at Manitoba Animal Alliance (MAA) who have been working tirelessly in efforts to save as many animals as possible while providing emergency support.
First Nation communities are asking for our help. Lack of access to vet care is detrimental to many families. We have the opportunity to bring in pregnant moms, help them whelp their babies in safety, and then return momma to her family after she gets spayed.
There are tiny puppies that could use our help. Homeless - not owned - dogs that could use our help. PLEASE consider opening your home so lives can be saved. Without foster homes, dogs and puppies will be left behind. If you are unable but know a friend who's been curious about fostering, please send them to our Foster Application (https://www.muttsdogrescue.ca/foster-application).
