SALLY.
6 MONTHS | F | SHEP x
HIGH PUPPY ENERGY
GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS AND KIDS 10+) & DOGS

It’s time to meet Sally, our spunky lady from the north! Sally is a six month old mutt x from a remote community in northern Manitoba, where she was found as a stray. She’s a busy girl who has all kinds of puppy energy to spare. Sally is looking for a family who enjoys being active and is ready to help this girl excel!
We all have that one friend who is constantly on the go, their schedule jam-packed with more activities than there are hours in the day! If Sally were a human, she would be that friend! Sally is full of big puppy energy. She loves to play, either with her humans or own her own (though if she’s playing on her own, it’s best to keep an eye on her, as she is still learning the difference between her toys and her humans’ belongings). Ensuring that Sally receives enough physical and mental stimulation is key to managing her energy. She enjoys three walks per day, and has already shown a love for hiking and exploring the great outdoors! Sally is still working on her leash walking skills (she’s still just a baby, after all!) and has a tendency to pull and go after small, darting creatures. She’s a smart girl, so with some consistent work and training, Sally will be walking on that leash like a pro in no time!
Sally would do very well with an active family! As a lady on the go, she’d also appreciate a home with a backyard space where she can burn as many beans as possible. She could share a home with another dog, so long as they are cool with an energetic puppy moving in. Sally has been around children, which she finds very exciting! It would be best to pair her with older children (10+) – she’s not aggressive by any means, but her energy could overwhelm younger, small kids. She’s still in her puppy biting phase (don’t worry – this goes away!), so interactions with youngins should be monitored. Sally loves hanging close to her fosters and will snuggle up for the occasional cuddle, though she much prefers a good round of belly rubs!
Miss Sally has a tendency to push the boundaries and can be a little mischievous if given too many opportunities! When left outside the crate for more than an hour, she ends up getting into things she shouldn’t, so we highly recommend that her adoptive family utilize crate training. If she needs to be in the crate during the day, she prefers that her human is nearby, but has no problems settling at night. When out on walks, Sally can be a little too eager to make friends (humans and dogs alike), and likes to jump. Depending on the dog, she may be submissive, but in other cases, she is jumpy and nippy. She has been leash reactive towards a number of smaller dogs. These are all classic signs of rambunctious puppyhood, which makes Sally an excellent candidate for puppy classes!
Sally is ready to settle down with her family! She’s sweet, playful and full of love, and she can’t wait to meet her perfect match!
