SADIE.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect Sadie to sweep you off your feet, look no further—because this Sadie is ready to steal your heart (but not your shoes, she just likes to hold onto them for comfort). Unlike a Sadie Hawkins dance, she won’t be the first to run up and ask for attention, but give her a little time, and she’ll be right by your side, asking for belly rubs and curling up next to you for a cozy nap.
Sadie is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves her people but prefers to take introductions at her own pace. She greets most humans with a happy tail wag and a polite sniff, but certain strangers—especially older men—can make her nervous, and she’ll make it clear that she’d rather they keep their distance. Once she trusts you, though, she’s all in, soaking up pets and cuddles like it’s her full-time job. She hasn’t met children yet, but given her gentle nature, she might do well with older, respectful kids. When it comes to other dogs, she’s friendly but a little unsure, especially around bigger or high-energy pups. A home with another calm, well-mannered dog could be a great match. As for cats, she reportedly did well with them in her previous foster home, though she hasn’t been tested in her current one.
Sadie is a well-mannered girl who already knows “sit” and “come” and is working on “stay.” She’s fully potty trained, great in her crate (she even chooses to nap there sometimes), and generally walks well on a leash—though if she’s feeling anxious, she might zigzag or pull. She gets four to five walks a day, along with some on-tether fetch and training sessions, but she would likely enjoy more space to run and explore if given the opportunity. While she’s not bouncing-off-the-walls energetic, she does love a good game of fetch and would happily trade a few slow dances for a chance to chase a ball.
One of Sadie’s cutest quirks is her love for “comfort shoes.” When left alone, she’ll gently collect one of her human’s shoes—not to chew, just to keep close until they return. She’s a total cuddlebug who melts for belly rubs and loves being near her people. Though she’s mostly calm and quiet, she does have a little bit of a sassy side—if she’s not a fan of someone new, she’ll let them know with a bark. She’s also got a soft spot for squirrels and birds, sometimes trying to charge after them on walks, proving that even this refined lady has a little mischief in her.
Sadie would thrive in a quiet home with kind, patient humans who understand that love at first sight isn’t always her style—but once she falls for you, she’s yours forever. She’s the perfect mix of independent and affectionate, playful and relaxed, and she’s ready to find her dance partner for life. So, are you ready to take Sadie’s paw and lead her to her forever home?
