GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS AND KIDS) + DOGS (WITH PROPER INTRO) + CATS

Nova is a delightful and charming canine companion with a personality as radiant as her name suggests. This lovable dog is known for her friendly demeanour and affectionate nature, making her a joy to be around for both humans and other animals.
Nova absolutely adores the company of other dogs. When she encounters other dogs on walks, she whines and leans towards them, eager to meet them, though her current foster ensures these interactions are controlled. Nova has shown to be calm and gentle with smaller dogs and even senior dogs, demonstrating her adaptable and considerate nature. She also enjoys the company of her fellow canines at daycare, which she attended twice a week with her previous family. She currently plays happily off-leash with her foster’s dogs in the backyard.
Nova is equally friendly towards humans. She has interacted warmly with children, lying down for tummy rubs and giving gentle kisses. Although she may try a gently stands up to greet people, she quickly corrects this behaviour with a little guidance and then settles down for some affectionate petting. Nova's love for people is evident as she seeks out pets and cuddles, happily sitting or lying down to receive attention.
When it comes to cats, Nova is curious but cautious. She has been cat-tested and was described as timid but curious, showing a respectful demeanour by stopping when the cat signalled discomfort.
Nova is a well-trained dog, having completed level two obedience training. She knows commands such as sit, stay, and come, although her recall could use some sharpening, especially with distractions like squirrels. Nova walks well on a prong collar but could potentially transition to a flat collar with continued leash work. She responds well to redirection and is an eager learner, making her a great candidate for further training. Continued training is essential for Nova, not just for maintaining good behaviour but also for providing her with the mental stimulation she thrives on.
One of Nova’s endearing quirks is her happy "woo" sound, a gentle noise she makes when excited, especially when let out of her crate in the morning. This isn't a typical husky howl but a softer, joyful expression that adds to her charm. Despite this playful trait, she is a fairly quiet dog, only barking occasionally when joining in with other dogs.
Nova also loves chasing squirrels in the backyard, though her prey drive is manageable with treats and redirection during walks. Otherwise, Nova has a soft spot for watching birds and squirrels, playing with her ball or flirt pole, and simply relaxing in the grass. She’s not a fan of the vacuum cleaner but handles other noises, like thunder, without issue.
Nova is a wonderful blend of affectionate, friendly, and playful. She loves being part of a family, whether it's joining in on adventures, playing in the backyard, or simply lounging around the house.
Her adaptability makes her suitable for both homes with other dogs and as an only dog, as long as she gets plenty of love and attention.
With her previous family’s loving care and her current foster’s guidance, Nova continues to thrive, bringing joy to everyone she meets with her sweet nature and adorable quirks.
