This is Hendrix! Part of Jolene’s classic rock crew, Hendrix came to us a year and a half ago with three of his siblings and his mom. He was adopted and through no fault of his own (owner life circumstances), was returned. This big, giant fluffball has spent the last month and a half at board and train and is finally ready to find his family.

Hendrix has been working hard on perfecting his manners. He’s super friendly when meeting new people, which can come across as a little pushy. He does become excited and jump, though he’s made a lot of improvement and is much better than when he first arrived back in our care. He also loves food and would countersurf, something also being addressed at training. Hendrix is a really smart and spunky dog who has picked up on training quickly. He thrives on structure and consistency, and although he is a lot to handle, his workability and desire to please will make him a great companion for the right family. Hendrix’s ideal family would be an active home with adults or older children. He is social to kids and adults alike, however given his training needs, we feel best that he be in a home without small children since he needs continual training. Hendrix needs people who would be committed to maintaining structure in the home and giving him plenty of exercise! He would do well in a condo or apartment, so long as he has regular opportunities to get outside.

Hendrix currently receives about 45-60 minutes per day of exercise, that being a combination of tug and walks. He is a playful guy who enjoys tug and a good wrestle and would never turn down the chance for a run in the snow! Hendrix’s basic obedience is up to snuff and his recall is also on point. His trainer is currently working on E-collar conditioning to sharpen his recall even more. He walks well on a prong collar and has not shown any leash reactivity. He does, however, have a strong prey drive. Inside, he’s fantastic in his crate and will only bark a little, but usually it’s when he’s waiting for his turn to do some training. Hendrix is a big fan of cuddling, belly scratches and ear scritches – I mean, with ears like his, who could blame him?!

Hendrix is potty-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, up to date with vaccines and neutered.

Hendrix is a confident guy who’s ready for his next adventure!
